About “HEWA SAFI” Tourist Project

Hewa Safi” is a program which was established by MACAO to welcome volunteers to visit National parks while working with the Organization.

We welcome volunteers and tourists who want to work with MACAO and visit different National parks and landmarks. Some of these sights include:

Tarangire National Park

Tarangire boasts the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the fringe-eared Oryx and long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. The park also offers views of grass and floodplains with impressive baobab and flat topped acacia trees scattered throughout.

Tarangire is one of the relatively few parks that also offer the possibility of a guided walking safari.

Ngorongoro Crater National Park

Within the Ngorongoro Crater  we found the eighth wonder of the world: the Ngorongoro Crater. It is the worlds largest un-broken and un-flooded volcanic caldera measuring 22.5 Km across and over half a kilometre deep. The entire area possesses a blend of sceneries, wildlife, traditional people and ancient life that is simply unrivalled in the whole continent of Africa.

Apart from groups of zebra, antelope gazelle, and wildebeest, the crater is the habitat to the "big five" which are; elephant, leopard, rhinoceros, lion, and buffalo. The crater host many species of wildlife in East Africa, an estimated 30,000 animals are found within the crater as well as a large variety of birds, which rarely move from the area due to the availability of water through the year. The endangered Black Rhino can also be found scattered throughout the crater.
